Dr Paul Cloete was born in Bloemfontein and grew up on a farm close to Fauresmith in the Free State. After matriculating from Grey College in Bloemfontein, he obtained his MBChB degree from the University of the Free State.
He then completed his internship and community service years in Kimberley, where he spent 6 months working in the department of orthopaedic surgery, and over a year in emergency medicine.
As a family practitioner, Dr Cloete enjoys all aspects of medicine, but his special interests include orthopaedics, acute medicine, trauma, paediatrics, and metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus and hypertension.
