Basic Allergy Screening and Testing (40-minute consultation):
During this session, we will comprehensively cover essential aspects of allergies, including potential triggers and the mechanics behind allergies. We’ll initiate a treatment plan and refer you for appropriate allergy testing. Feedback will be provided in-person or over the phone following the testing.
ADHD Screening (40-minute consultation):
For patients concerned about potential ADHD symptoms, we offer initial screening, treatment discussion, and appropriate treatment initiation. You will receive parent and teacher questionnaires before the appointment, which should be completed and returned beforehand for processing. Please note that this screening is not suitable for children under 6 years old. If you’re worried about a younger child, seeking assessment from a Paediatrician is advised.
Neurodevelopmental Screening (40-minute consultation):
These sessions cater to parents who have apprehensions about their child’s development and interactions. Concerns such as speech delay, sensory issues, and autism are addressed. We’ll delve into a comprehensive history and utilize screening tools as necessary. Referrals to the appropriate services will follow. It’s important to note that while I am not a specialist, I can identify potential concerns and initiate relevant interventions. Early intervention is pivotal for all children, and my aim is to address your worries and chart a care pathway.
Mental Health and Anxiety Screening:
Given the notable rise in depression and anxiety among children, teenagers and adults alike, these sessions focus on identifying and addressing these issues. Detecting and treating depression and anxiety early is crucial for a child’s overall well-being, as it can impact school performance, relationships, and development. Our aim is to identify problems and commence a treatment plan, as untreated anxiety and depression can lead to severe outcomes.
Baby Wellness Screening
The first two years of life are a critical time for children. Your baby should attend regular newborn wellness checkups to make sure they’re progressing.
We recommend scheduling a well-child visit for newborns when they are three to five days old during the first week of life. After that, babies should receive checkups every few months until they are two years old.
What to Expect at an Infant Wellness Checkup
Height and weight. Most visits start with measuring and weighing your baby to see how they compare to other newborns. The doctor plots those figures on a growth chart, making them the benchmark to use during subsequent visits to track your baby’s growth progress. You should feel free to ask the doctor questions you have or share concerns about your baby.
Physical exam. During your baby’s first visit, the doctor looks them over while they are fully undressed for signs of anything out of the ordinary. Other elements of a physical exam usually include an eye exam, checking the baby’s pulse and heartbeat, checking out the umbilical cord, and examining the baby’s hips.
Developmental Milestones. During baby checkups, the doctor will look for babies to hit specific developmental markers depending on their age.
